Computer Draft - Front Page

This the second computer draft I've done for my music magazine. I used my research to include features such as the puff on the right to fill in empty space as real front covers usually have little. I kept the black, white and red colour scheme as I think this is a common convention of rock magazines and so fits my magazine well seeming as the model is also wearing the three colours.

I think I  still need to try and find how to fill up the rest of the empty space without it looking too packed in. I don't want to to include too many lures because It will make it will make it packed, I need to do do further research into more conventions I could use.

Computer Draft - Double Page

This is the first draft I have done for my music magazine. I tried to keep the conventions of rock magazines such as the broken font in the quote as well as the blank look of the model into the camera..To improve on this I will look more into the research that I have already done to see how I can improve the overall 'rock feel' of my magazine.
I think i should first change the font for the article as Times New Roman is a font usually associated with more formal magazines and pieces of writing, and doesn't appeal as much to the younger audience my magazine is aimed at.

Double Page Image Manipulation

Before                                               After

To try and get the rock genre feel that I wanted for my magazine, I used Photoshop to manipulate the image of my model to give him features sometimes associated with punk/rock artists (dyed hair, colored glasses, emphasis on gold logo on glasses). I used the Pen tool on Photoshop to cut out and change the colour of  the middle and side section of the model's hair (I made the sides of his hair darker and then the middle section red), the colour of his glasses from black to dark purple, and then increased the size of the glasses logo and made it a gold colour.
